Day 3- Main Cleanse

Food is such an incredible thing, and to know it is the prime tool for healing, can be such a wonderful use of time and energy!

Your ability to digest fat and assimilate nutrients will improve due to your efforts throughout this cleanse. Toxins that have accumulated will be dislodged and toxins that may have found a seat will be carried on out of your body. All of this will be assisted by the practices and routines that you are integrating into your day and life.

Reminders:

Sip warm or hot water. This practice is like putting you in a warm bathtub all day long. :) The sipping will dilate your channels through which detoxification will happen.

Don’t skimp on the ghee! Feel free to add a dollop on top of the kitchari, or for every meal that you consume throughout the cleanse. This oil will soften your channels for detoxification. Ghee also lubricates the major channels for elimination.

R&R! relax, and make some time for house keeping so that you’re space is clear and calm.

Lying on your left side after a meal can help with digestion. Practice relaxed breathing with your body soft in this side lying position to calm the wind and soften the abdomen.

Stick to kitchari over these three days. If you need a little extra something, try soaked almonds, slices of avocado, dates dipped in tahini, or a side of steamed veggies and especially sweet potato this time of year.

Don’t forget to oil the body! It is a beautifully grounding practice and will assist in ridding the body of toxins. If you feel aches and pains or fatigue, body oiling is especially helpful.

In closing:

Expect variation in how you feel from day to day. Some days you may feel slow, other days vibrant. Continue to connect to your intentions. Take it one moment at a time.
