Day 5- Main Cleanse

We are deep into this now! Such a wonderful job you are all doing. The results from this week will affect your health moving forward. For some of us, we have may have transformed or begun the transformation of reversing an imbalance. For others, we may have prevented an accumulation or imbalance from developing. The point is, cleansing in this way could impact your current health and completely change the path of your health moving forward. So again, beautiful work!

For some further encouragement, here are some inspiring reminders about how the process works:

Observing wait times between meals allows your Agni, or digestive fire, to burn bright once again. In the Ayurvedic texts, Agni is the very first aspect of the body that is mentioned. And therefore, taking great care of the digestive system is at the center of the teachings. Most things unhelpful to the body will be burned up and eliminated, unless, the Agni is weak. Agni is weakened by overeating, not eating enough, eating too often, eating too many combinations of foods, and of course, by stress. When hunger turns into low blood sugar, low energy, or lightheadedness, you’ve gone too far.

When Agni burns up something undesirable, there may be a waste product that needs to be eliminated. If it can not be properly eliminated we accumulate and blockages are created within. Oil Massage ensures the tissues are soft enough for the channels of elimination to be able to let go. Quiet time , meditation, and journaling can be a part of this waste removal as well. We need to be receptive in all ways to support this process. Make space in your day for this and try not to suppress emotions. Go outside and breath deeply, cry, feel that which wants to be moved as part of the cleanse. Feel fully in the moment, and then MOVE ON. I say this gently and lovingly in all caps :)

So, take it slow, keep up the good work, and keep creating space for your body to do it’s work.
