The thing to remember is that agni actually gets low during this time of eating a lighter diet, and has turned its attention inward for cleansing beyond the digestive tract. It is ideal to invite in heavier foods incrementally. Jumping right into heavy foods or complicated food combos can create ama. Take some time to make a plan for yourself as you integrate back into the pre-cleanse foods; free from irritants, allergens, and potentially addictive substances. Take the time to prepare fresh meals with whole grains and steamed veggies, perhaps stewed apples and oats? Maybe an egg for protein or pumpkin seeds spiced with ghee. Notice how sharp your senses are and how grateful you feel for the bounty and variety of nature. It is such a special time.
