Finding A Rhythm
Welcome!
Even though you have all made the conscious decision to cleanse this week, your mind will still act as if nothing is supposed to change. It will still rationalize why you should maintain your habitual patterns. Why not have coffee? Or that sweet treat after lunch and/or supper? The habitual patterns will be very present. Today will be about settling into a rhythm. How does Dinacharya work for you in your schedule? How are you fitting in those moments of rest and restore?
Ayurveda studies how and when the body processes food, and when it is not processing food, and how and when it is detoxifying. Digestion is as its peak in the middle of the day, around 1:00 pm. Choose your biggest meal to have at this time. Think of "dinner" as "supper" and supplement at this meal time, with what you perhaps haven't received enough of today.
After 8:00 pm try not to eat any more food. A warm tea or golden milk is perfect for this time of day.
